Energy Medicine
In the last few decades there has been a dramatic evolution in understanding of the mind, body, and spirit reality of who we are. We are, at our essence, made up of energy, as is all of life. Our energetic self can become out of balance as a result of the many adverse effects of life, manifesting as illness. By managing our energies we can manage stress, anxiety, and minimize the risk of resulting illness. For more detail, please read chapters headed:

Medicine for Profit, Not Health, Then and Now
IET
IET provides a simple and gentle way to open the flow of vital life force within the human body and the human energy field, by integrating suppressed feelings from cellular memory and clearing their associated energy blockages.
REIKI
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “Universal Life Force Energy”. When the Reiki practitioner treats a client by simply placing hands on and having the intention of the highest good, Reiki energy automatically flows to aid in balancing the energetic body, therefore the physical body.
Energy Medicine
Energy Medicine, including Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy, deals with balancing the energy field or biofield.
It has been a part of lay medicine for thousands of years.
Physiologist and Nobel Prize winner, Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, in 1937, said “In every culture and in every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy.”
In Chinese medicine the electromagnetic field of the body, this energy is called chi as in chiropractic, chi kung or tai chi. In Japan this energy is called ki as in Reiki. In Indian Aryurvedic tradition this energy is called prana as in yogic pranayama breathing techniques.
The return to Energy Medicine is a return to the legacy of our ancestors and is the oldest, safest, natural and most accessible medicine there is.
Forms of Energy Medicine, such as Reiki, IET and others are making their way into conventional medicine. It is my hope that both allopathic and ‘alternative’ medicine will work congruently with the result of a more powerful and far less expensive healthcare system.
Integrated Energy Therapy (IET)
IET supports self-healing on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.
The energy of some trauma can be suppressed as physical and emotional imprints into the cellular memory of your physical body. This suppressed energy can limit your enjoyment of life and impair your state of well being.
IET is a safe and gentle way of releasing energy blockages that can cause imbalance and disease in the body.
IET is a hands-on healing therapy system that “gets the issues out of your tissues”…for good!
During an IET treatment the client relaxes, fully clothed, on a massage table.
Treatment can also be conducted, equally successfully, at a distance.
REIKI
Reiki is pronounced “Ray-Key”.
Rei means “universal” and refers to the spiritual/soul dimensions.
Ki means the “vital life force energy” which flows through all that is alive.
The practice of Reiki engages and strengthens the body’s ability to self heal.
Reiki aids in balancing the biofield or electromagnetic field.
Reiki treatment is holistic and does not attack disease but supports the person through feelings of relaxation, peace, security and wellbeing.
My 2008 peer-reviewed, published study, “Effects of Reiki Treatment on Anxiety and Depression: A Randomized Control Trial” is one of the largest studies on the efficacy of Reiki conducted to date and demonstrated a dramatic reduction in both anxiety and depression that remained stable at the 30-day measure.
Numerous other studies, among other benefits, have shown that patients, after surgery, heal more quickly, require less medication, and are in a better frame of mind.
During a Reiki treatment the client relaxes, fully clothed, on a massage table.
Treatment can also be conducted, equally successfully, at a distance.
